In today’s edition – Sheddocksley Baptist Church Fine Piece Cafe is the scene of a massive operation to provide Comfort Boxes to front line NHS workers. These comfort boxes contain hand cream, face wipes, pot noodles, snack bars, juice and shower gel. Volunteers from the church are helping with the effort. Social distancing rules apply. The church were contacted by NHS Grampian Endowment Fund had approached the church and asked them to help. The Evening Express and Original 106 are backing the project. Any businesses wanting to donate items can visit the Sheddocksley Baptist Chuch just off Eday Walk Mondays – Fridays 9 am – 12 pm or contact nhgs.involve@nhs.net
Elderly residents and staff at Jesmond Care Home in Bridge of Don have been delighted in recent weeks to see chicks hatching.
A cluster of 5 churches in Aberdeen – Aberdeen West Churches has been broadcasting on Youtube and attracting viewers from well outside the normal catchment area for the churches and has enabled many living local to feel a part of the church. VSA run Easter Anguston Farm is in danger of having to be closed due to rising costs during the lock down. A young 7 year old Marc Johnston who has autism is to walk a Marathon with Marley to raise funds to keep the farm open. The costs are £10, 000 per week to keep open Easter Anguston Farm is a great favourite with Marc and the family.
