Sean, could you explain the training of private investigators and why it is necessary?
SEAN:
Joe, training in any profession has value and in the private investigative business, it is critical because we
are allowed to do things the public is not. For example, we can legally surveille a subject, whereas an
individual following someone could be criminally charged for harassment. To answer you question more
specifically, the legislature decided and put into law that for a private investigator to be licensed they
would have to have a minimum of 3 years investigative experience with a licensed PI or have a rank of
sgt or higher to acquire the license. Being a private investigator requires a lot of management and use
of practical common-sense skills. At LPDAM.org, we only provide membership to professional
investigators that have met the high standards expected within our industry. Our website matches a
licensed PI based on a consumer’s interest or scope of work. It is our experience that allows us to gather
the information requested by our clients and for it to stand up in Court.

SEAN:
That’s correct Joe. In addition to our members qualifications to initially get their private investigative
license, they have access to educational seminars and networking events. This is important because it
keeps them invested in the industry and it helps provide a better product to the consumer.
