Toys bought online from elsewhere in the world should be subject to the same safety standards as those made and sold within Europe – that’s the view of Billy Kelleher. Existing EU law sets tough standards on manufacturers of children’s toys. The European Parliament has now made a number of recommendations to further tighten up the law. Fianna Fáil MEP, Billy Kelleher, says the internet has changed the way parents are buying toys and the law needs to reflect that.
