New ‘fairer’ CAP will hit wealthy farmers– Kelly

It’s ‘only right’ that wealthy farmers won’t be entitled anymore to ‘huge’ payments under the new Common Agricultural Policy.

So says Fine Gael MEP Sean Kelly. The European Parliament this week gave the green light to the new CAP which aims to be greener, fairer, more flexible and transparent. 

Under the new rules, there will be a limit on the subsidies the big farms can receive. And small farms will benefit from a “redistribution payment”.
