MESSAGE SUMMARY: Remember, we are all sinners; but each of us, in our own minds, have some level of righteousness or holiness. Also, in our minds, we have some concept of what sin would be which enables us to call another person a sinner. Often, we say something about another person like: “They really need to get their life together.”; or “I’m glad I’m not like that.”. In Romans 5:7-9, Paul summarizes that we are all sinners, but that we have the means for God’s saving Grace through Jesus: “For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die — but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.". The problem here is that everyone is a sinner; but the good news {Gospel}is that you and I, as followers of Jesus, have had our sins forgiven. Also, as we follow Jesus, God reveals to us those sins of which we are unaware. However, you really get in difficulty in your Christian life when you, in your mind, you put down your neighbors and colleagues as being more sinful or less Christian than yourself. As Paul posited of himself and you, that: “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! (Luke 11:13).
