Solomon was well known for 2 specific things: his building accomplishments and his wisdom.
Solomon wrote down what we now know as the Book of Proverbs because he knew how easy it is to forsake wisdom.

- Jesus taught the disciples like a father would teach his son.
- Jesus’s teaching comes from a place of father-like care.
- Jesus is also the embodiment of the “son” that is described in Proverbs 2.
- Like a son listening to his father’s instruction, Jesus prays to God in order to receive God’s instruction.
- Jesus receives God’s instruction in order that Jesus could heed God’s instruction.
- Furthermore Jesus is the embodiment of wisdom.
- Jesus understood the inherent need of God.
- God helps us to achieve wisdom through his grace.
- We serve a God who wants to see success rather than failure.
