Mid-Session 6 Feb 18: Local shares plunge after DOW drops 4.6% overnight

Losses are widespread on Tuesday after a global rout which saw the DOW plunge 1,175 points or 4.6% - its worst one-day fall in 6.5 years. The ASX 200 is down 162 points or 2.7% to 5,863.
