US Close 24 Jan - S&P and NASDAQ record highs tariffs in focus

US sharemarkets were mixed on Tuesday. Shares in Netflix rose by 10% in response to its latest earnings results, in turn boosting other technology stocks. Shares in Whirlpool rose 3.2% after US President Trump sharply lifted tariffs on imported washing machines and solar panels. The US Dow Jones was down by 4 points
