The Bear Sports Guy, Sam Kuperman and Dave Stratton wonder why major league baseball owners are delaying any sort of significant negotiation with players over a truncated summer season - could it have anything to do with the 44 teams they want to cut from the minor leagues, including our beloved New York Penn League? If so, they are achieving their goal - both the Williamsport Crosscutters and State College Spikes announced this season is "suspended indefinitely" this past weekend - the same thing as saying minor league ball in Bear Country won't happen this summer....

And NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will really have to thread the needle to keep players on board after Kyrie Irving held an 80 player conference call last week to discuss how to keep the current police brutality protests primary - should players say no to the summer schedule?
