Mid-Session 4 Nov 2021: ASX 200 edges higher supported by banks, while energy drags

Local shares advanced in early trade on Thursday as bank and technology names outperformed the broader market, although gains moderated over the course of the morning. Energy names were the main drag after oil prices retreated overnight.
