Episode 135 | Interview with Dr Sarandeep Marwaha: Protecting Young Hearts with CRY

In this special episode, Sunrise Radio speaks with Dr Sarandeep (Saran) Marwaha, Consultant Cardiologist at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and former CRY-funded Research Fellow. Alongside her clinical expertise, Dr Marwaha is a Senior Lecturer and mentor at St George’s, University of London, and a passionate advocate for women in cardiology.

We discuss her journey with Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), why she chose to specialise in inherited heart conditions affecting young people and athletes, and the life-saving importance of heart screenings. Dr Marwaha also explains what a CRY screening involves, the role of research in preventing sudden cardiac deaths, and why awareness within the British Asian community is vital.
