Morning Report 11 Nov 20: US sharemarkets were mixed on Tuesday

Investors ditched growth stocks in favour of value stocks. Tech shares continued to retreat. Apple (-0.3%) introduced its first notebook computer with an Apple-designed microprocessor. Shares of Amazon fell 3.5% as the online-retail giant faced an antitrust complaint from the EU. American depositary receipts (ADRs) of Alibaba tumbled 8.3% after China tightened the scrutiny over internet behemoths. Beyond Meat shares sank 16.9% after the plant-based burger maker reported sales that trailed Wall Street analyst estimates. Boeing shares lifted 5.2% on news that regulators could lift the 737 Max grounding as soon as next week. The Dow Jones index closed up by 263 points or 0.9%. The S&P500 index was just 0.1% lower. And the Nasdaq index fell by 160 points or 1.4%.
