Coming from a militant Roots, Culture and Dub tradition, I was seldom interested in romantic Reggae music. But: inspired and fascinated by Steve McQueens films "Small Axe" I decided to dig in my archives for some sweet and handsome stuff. This leeds to a selection, that can be roughly divided in two parts: the first part is about modern artist (from the Paris DJs surroundings for instance) and the second comes with UK Lovers Rock (containing the hit song of Janet Kay and diverse Dennis Bovell late 1970s productions) in its focus. I mixed the set in one go in a rough and tough style, with the intention to create a live athmosphere. And: you will find two of my re-constructions, too.
