Market Close 7 Aug 18: Market loses ground in five of the last seven sessions

Local shares have closed weaker on Tuesday with the ASX 200 losing 19 points or 0.3% to 6253.9 to make it the fifth session out of the last seven in negative territory.

The main weights on the local bourse came from the materials and telcos.
