US Pre-Close 11 Dec 18: Markets mixed in volatile trade

US markets have experienced significant volatility overnight, with shares down as much as 2% at one stage. Strong gains from technology stocks however have pushed the Dow Jones slightly higher with around one hour of trade remaining.
