Welcome to the first Inquizition Interview, an irregular series with host and quizmaster, Luke Ryan, where regular Inquizition guests are interviewed about their quizzing experiences.

This first episode is with quizmaster and quizzer, Alex Downs from Maine, USA. We talk about how Alex got into quizzing and being a quizmaster in Prague and how he developed as a quizmaster, and dealing with quiz hecklers. We talk about bulletproofing questions, how mobile phones have changed the nature of table quizzes and dealing with quizmaster’s block. We chat about favorite or memorable quiz team names, how Oscar winner, Geoffrey Rush has attended Luke’s James Joyce quiz and much more.

We also ask each other some questions about rivers, animals, the Bible, South America, disasters, Greek philosophers and US presidents.
