Morning Report 18 Oct 19: Wall St inches higher on earnings results

US sharemarkets were higher on Thursday. Investors mulled weaker economic data, earnings results, Brexit news and news of a ceasefire in Syria agreed by Turkey and the US. The Dow Jones ended higher by 24 points or 0.1% after trading in a 142-point range.
