US Close 27 Nov 17: US higher in short trade, boosted by oil and retail spending

US sharemarkets posted modest gains in a shortened trading

session on Friday. Most interest was in how retailers fared in 'Black

Friday' trade. Reuters reported "Adobe Analytics, which measures

80% of online transactions at the largest 100 US web retailers,

forecast online Black Friday sales of $7.9 billion, a record high." The

Dow Jones rose by 32 points or 0.1%.
