EP 78: Buffalo Sabres, what is happening?

What is happening in Buffalo? Taylor Hall said he wanted to win. He signs in Buffalo. Then he defends that decision by saying that he wanted to play for a contender. Pegula and Adams stated that if they get him signed then they are a team that will not just be competing for the playoffs, but the Stanley Cup. 

Where did it go wrong?
Were they too ahead of themselves? 
What is the solution? 

On Paper the Buffalo Sabres are a competitive team. Why has it not translated?
