Market Close 12 Mar 18: ASX 200 closes just shy of 6,000

The local sharemarket has extended last week’s gains, helped by strong gains in the Energy, Materials and Healthcare sectors. The ASX 200 closed up 0.6% or 32 points to 5,996.
