When a childhood story turns into a book and a nonprofit - the journey of Aja Ochoa and Shauna Ridnour

This week on The KORE Women podcast Dr. Summer Watson chats with Aja Ochoa and Shauna Ridnour. Aja and Shauna are sisters, producers of the book, “The Green Time,” and founders of the non-profit, “The Green Time.

Aja and Shauna were raised in a large family, were introduced to culture, travel, work ethic and community service at a young age. Their maternal grandmother, Blanca Alvarado, is an American social activist and the first Latina to serve on the Board of Supervisors in Santa Clara County. Blanca also co-hosted a radio program on KLOK radio and worked with Cesar Chavez throughout the 70s and 80s. Aja and Shauna grew up with a strong influence in culture, community, and service to others.

This is a story about sibling support, sisterhood, family, childhood relationships, and connection to community!
