Unhelpful thoughts can be distracting or destructive. Your mind is a powerful tool, but if you can't manage your thoughts, you're not using it to your advantage.
Maintain space between yourself and your thoughts. You don't have to engage with every thought that comes to your mind. Allow unhelpful thoughts to pass by without dwelling on them.
Understand that random thoughts are a natural function of your brain. Not every thought you have is useful or meaningful. Don't take them personally.
Meditation is a helpful tool for understanding the nature of your mind. It allows you to focus on your breathing and redirect your attention away from unhelpful thoughts.
You can choose what to focus your attention on. When you experience an unhelpful thought, you can decide to think about something more useful. Apply logic and ask yourself what a sensible person would do in your situation.
