Market Close 10 Jan 17: Local shares retreat ending a five-session rally

The Australian share market has finished weaker for the first time in 2017. The ASX 200 lost 0.8% or 46 points to 5,760, held back by falls from the banks, telcos & consumer discretionary stocks.
