Morning Report 5 Jun 20: US stocks consolidate ahead of employment report

US sharemarkets were mixed on Thursday ahead of Friday's jobs report. Investors are also awaiting plans for the next round of US economic stimulus. Shares of J.M. Smucker fell 4.8% after the packaged food company forecast a decline in full year sales. Shares of tech giants Facebook ( 1.7%), Netflix ( 1.8%) and Alphabet ( 1.7%) pushed indexes lower. But eBay shares rose 6.3% after raising current quarter forecasts due to a surge in customer orders. The Dow Jones rose by almost 12 points or 0.1%. But the S&P500 index was down by 0.3% and the Nasdaq index declined by 67 points or 0.7%.
