US Close 18 Jan 17: US lower banks and medical stocks hit, FTSE off over 100pts on BREXIT update

European shares eased on Tuesday. There was much focus on a speech by the UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, who laid out plans for the country to leave the European Union.
