Mid-Session 14 Oct 19: Trade optimism driving Aussie shares higher

The local share market has started the new week on a high as markets cheer on developments from recent US-China trade talks. Both sides have agreed to ‘phase 1’ of a trade deal. The ASX 200 is improving close to 0.9% and trading near 6660 points. Financials, energy and materials are among the most improved sectors.
