Bible Study - Elijah and Elisha (11) - The God that Answereth By Fire, Let Him Be God

8/4/21 - Elijah lays out the trial. He and the 450 prophets of Baal would each take a bullock and pray unto their God. The one that answers is surely the true God, and him will the people follow. All the people see this as a fair trial and agree to the terms. Baal's prophets cry from morning until the time of evening sacrifice with no answer, even though they cry aloud, leap on the altar and cut themselves.

During times of great darkness, deception, and wickedness God called and equipped two great prophets to service. By the power of God they wrought great miracles, including the first resurrections found in the Bible. They challenged the prophets of Baal, and boldly withstood the wicked kings and leaders of Israel. We pray the Lord will strengthen and encourage our hearts through the study of their lives.
