Jesus calls us to rest from our afflictions and the power of evil by resting in his power and dominion but our hard hearts resist him. We can believe we need his help, and that we need his teachings, but we refuse to believe we need him to free us. Until we see Jesus as our savior king who delivers us we will never rest.
