The Business of Auto Technicians

Last week we had a news story about how BMW and Fiat Chrysler were busy recruiting individuals directly from high schools and technical schools to become automobile technicians. The reason: There is an acute shortage of people in that field. We reached out to the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) for an update on what they know and that's how we met Jerry Burns the Chair of the Automotive Technology Department. We asked lots of questions about the field, costs, wages and more...Jerry answered.
