One — The U.S. has hit two facilities in eastern Syria used by Iran in what it says are "self-defense strikes." Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said in a statement on Thursday that at President Biden's direction, the strikes were carried out as a response to a series of attacks on U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria by Iranian-backed militia groups.
Two— The United Auto Workers strike cost Ford Motor Company one-point-three-billion-dollars over its 41 days. The automaker it lost 400-million a week since the strike began September 15th and ended with the tentative contract agreement on Wednesday. Ford chief financial officer John Lawler says the company will stay profitable with the deal, but labor costs per vehicle will rise between 850 and 900 dollars.
Three -- President Biden's approval rating among voters of his own party is at rock-bottom. A Gallup poll shows that 75-percent of Democratic respondents approve of the job Biden is doing in the White House. That's down eleven points from last month. Meanwhile, 35-percent of independent voters said they approved of Biden's work, down four percentage points from September.
