Pineapple, Orange, Banana: A Podcast for Kids and Family
Kids & Family:Education for Kids
Is your child experiencing anxiety? Listen to this episode to learn direct ways to help your child process their anxious thoughts.
In the episode you will explore questions and concepts around anxiety that will help your child to externalize the anxiety from who they are and start to see it as something they interact with.
When your child starts to imagine anxiety as something outside of themself they can see the anxiety is the problem and not themselves as the problem. This can be empowering for you child and reduce the shame around feeling anxious.
I also guide you and your child in a mindfulness exercise that helps you acknowledge anxious thoughts and imagine them moving away from you. This helps you and your kiddo stay in the present moment and honor your needs.
You can use this worksheet to help your child draw what their anxiety monster looks like.
