The European Parliament is calling for sanctions against Turkey over its recent military actions against Kurds in northeast Syria.
MEPs voted for a resolution today that warned Turkey’s actions in Syria amount to what they call “a grave violation of international law, undermining the stability and security of the region as a whole”.
The European Parliament says at least three hundred thousand people have been displaced as a result of the Turkish operations in Syria. That’s alongside a high number of civilian and military casualties.
The Fine Gael MEP Frances Fitzgerald says MEPs are outraged over what's happening in Syria.
