This episode focuses on the winner of the 2025 McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Memorial Run at the McAllen Convention Center. The City of McAllen hosted the event in January with more than 12,000 runners and spectators in this year’s race. For the 11th year, there were more than 5,000 runners registered for the marathon, half marathon, relay marathon, 10K run, or 5K run. McAllen Independent School District had more than 5,000 students participating in the McAllen Kids Marathon. There is also a heartwarming story about a young man with special needs who rides his wheelchair while his runner pushes him throughout the marathon course. His team of supporters are called “Team Tony” meet his family that supports him from start to finish at the McAllen Marathon. The success of the McAllen Marathon is driven by community support.
