Market Close 17 Jan 17: Investors cautious ahead of UK PM’s Brexit speech

The ASX 200 has closed near the lows of the day, slipping 49 points or 0.9% to 5,699. Investors remain cautious, ahead of UK Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit Speech this evening.
