Let George Do It - Tonight the Mayhem’s Going to be Different

Cecile Lewis is writing a letter to Claire (George's girlfriend "Brooksie") inviting them to her and her brother Avery's home for the weekend. Then Cecile can see her boyfriend, Joe Ames, on Monday. Avery Lewis does not have a high opinion of her boyfriend.  Brooksie receives the letter, but is confused because she does not know Cecile Lewis. George has heard of Avery Lewis, a real bigshot sportsman type in the society pages, but he is not personally acquainted with him. George and Brooksie drive out to the Lewis Estate on Crescent Lane to try and find some answers. While there, a neighbor, Paul Merrill, tells Cecile that Joe Ames has just purchased his home. Avery is on the telephone, but overhears the conversation, gets very angry, and storms into the house. Meanwhile, Cecile has disappeared, and George and Brooksie hear five gunshots.
