So I reach out to Cody Norton the large carnivore specialist for the Michigan DNR. Cody discusses the history and gives an overview to the wolves within the state. It is within the states best interest to keep the gray wolf off the endangered species list to be able to manage to wolf population within the state. We review some to the key points within the states management plan as well as the surveys conducted to be taken into consideration when it comes to updating that plan. Then I close it out with updates on some efforts that are being made to delist some of the countries wolf populations in areas with sustainable numbers.
