Sam Harper is a professional cricketer and a superstar of the BBL. He is a wicket-keeper batsman who currently has a first-class average of 27.27 for Victoria & 21.86 in T20 competition, most recently playing for the Melbourne Renegades. Sam was gracious enough to give us his time, take us behind the scenes and share what life is really like as a professional cricketer.

He shared his story and what it was like signing his first Victorian contract at only 17 years old and walking into a star-studded dressing room! As well as explaining what his day-to-day consists of and his ambition to represent Australia and play more cricket abroad.

Sam was so open and honest about the highs and lows of Big Bash Cricket.

From the blistering heights including that famous BBL final against the Stars and the moments that took place out in the middle and playing alongside some of the all-time T20 greats like Aaron Finch and Andre Russell, to the realistic lows that each cricketer faces like form slumps and internal and external pressure.

And to really get your total cricket fix, Sam even shared the art of sledging, cricket lunches and the one bowler who keeps him awake at night!
