US Market Close 7 Feb 17: US markets lose ground on flight to safety

US sharemarkets were softer on Monday as investors switched from shares to safe-haven assets given the absence of fresh economic and corporate news. The Dow closed lower by 19 points or 0.1% while the Nasdaq was weaker by 3 points or 0.1%.
