After last week's introduction where Richard Bach presents a brief overview of the story written in pseudo-scriptural format, this second chapter is actually the first chapter of where the story begins.
We meet the autobiographical character Richard and his new friend, Donald Shimoda, as they fly their biplanes in the American Midwest during the early 1970s at a time when a 10 minute biplane ride set you back $3.
Right off the bat, Richard recognizes that his new friend is ... well ... a curiosity, as is his plane that doesn't seem to ever show any signs of real-world wear-and-tear. We also get introduced to Richard Bach's love of flying as he colorfully and in great detail describes the experience of flying and landing a biplane.
After we read the chapter, the discussion turns to all of the ways that Illusions mirrors and parallels the teachings of Abraham-Hicks. We also discuss past lives and SRT among other processes and techniques we can use whose ultimate purpose is to help us to differentiate between what we want and what we don't want.
