Episode 324: LJR (Luke Justin Roberts) [Pop] {Washington DC}

Episode 324 features Luke Justin Roberts, aka LJR—a longtime friend of mine and a talented pop artist based in the DMV. While he was a frequent guest in the early days of the show, it’s been at least 100 episodes since his last appearance, so it felt like the perfect time to bring him back. We were working on a collaboration for a Frank Turner cover, which gave us the chance to fit in an interview. Luke is releasing a full-length album tomorrow, June 11th, which has been years in the making. In this episode, I featured his track “Insecure,” which you can stream on all major platforms. We had an in-depth conversation about balancing the need to make money with the drive to stay creative as a musician. In addition to his music, Luke runs LJR Creative, offering video services, and hosts songwriter sessions called “Amplify” at studios throughout the DMV.
