US Close 9 Aug 16: US markets closed lower but mining stocks and energy firms higher.

US sharemarkets eased on Monday with weakness in healthcare stocks partially offset by gains in the energy sector. Seven of the 10 major S&P sectors were weaker with the S&P healthcare sector losing 1%. The rally in oil prices supported energy stocks with the sector lifting by 1.5%. The Dow Jones fell by 14 points or 0.1%. The S&P 500 index fell by 0.1% and the Nasdaq lost 8 points or 0.2%.
