In 2015, Matthew Vaughn of Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class fame wanted to bring some fun back to the spy genre. Thanks to the help of Mark Millar, who is a big deal in the comic world, the two brought Kingsman to life in the 2012 comic book, which Vaughn always wanted to produce as a feature film. While American audiences weren't crazy about the film, it scored well enough to create some devoted followers and two sequels, with a third in production.
