US Close 8 Sept 16: Quiet night in the US, Apple took centre stage, China trade out today.

US sharemarkets ended flat on Wednesday. Shares in Apple rose by 0.6% after it unveiled the new iPhone 7 and an updated Apple Watch. After being down 63 points at one stage, the Dow Jones index ended lower by 12 points or 0.1%. The S&P 500 index fell by less than 0.1% but the Nasdaq gained 8 points or 0.2% to a record high.
