Morning Report 16 Jan 19: Brexit vote in focus

The US sharemarket improved overnight thanks to gains from healthcare and technology stocks. The current Brexit deal was unanimously voted down in UK Parliament which was the expected outcome (although margin of defeat was worse than expected).
