Listener dilemma: Dad doesn’t want child to make Holy Communion

We got an email from a man who's wife has signed their eldest child up for preparation classes for holy communion without discussing it with him despite their agreement to raise the children without religion until they're old enough to understand. Should he just sit back and let this happen or do you think that he should intervene?
