We haven’t had one of these in a while. This is why we are absolutely delighted to welcome DOP Johanna Coelho to the show.
Johanna sat down with our hosts, Giles Alderson and Andrew Rodger, to tell you all about the cameras she uses, the lenses, the equipment, .. She talks about the difference between shooting a feature film vs a TV show, how she picks her crew, whether she keeps up with new tech, filter, grain, the balance of getting everything in camera or leaving something for post, as well as how she deals with difficult or misogynistic people on set.
And she discusses her work on The Rookie, her workflow, prepping for 4 cameras, how many days of prep and how many shooting days she had and how she maintained the look of the show while putting her own touch to it.
What are you waiting for, lovely listener? This is the masterclass you have been waiting for. So sit back, relax and listen to this week’s episode with the amazing Johanna Coelho.
THE ROOKIE Season 4 is out!
Starting over isn't easy, especially for John Nolan who, after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of joining the LAPD. As their oldest rookie, he's met with skepticism from those who see him as just a walking midlife crisis.
