Samuel Tsoi - “Peacemaking Pours Out of Our Identity”

Today on the podcast, immigrant-turned-advocate, Samuel Tsoi, shares his belief in the power and importance of immigrants.

Originally born in Hong Kong, Samuel now lives in San Diego and works as a community organizer and advocate for refugees, migrants, and other new neighbors along the border. Why? Because he thinks we need a new way of seeing our new arrivals. As he put it:

“Part of this is my drive, being an immigrant. I want immigrants to not be presented in such a negative light in the media or seen as a problem but instead seen as an opportunity. And if we don’t take advantage of this opportunity, of having immigrants being in our cities, we’ll miss out. We should take advantage of the fact that people are coming, they’re here, they’re contributing, and they’re making out communities more dynamic.”
