2018-04-17

Intro:

French President Emmanuel Macron, during a debate on the future of Europe with the European Parliament in Strasbourg today, brought up the idea of a temporary 'digital tax' on internet companies operating in the EU. The idea has been very unpopular in Ireland but has received support in the European Parliament. Deirdre Clune, a Fine Gael MEP representing Ireland South, has been trying to convince her colleagues that such a temporary tax is not a good idea.
