Episode # 5056 – The Season Of Lent 2019

It’s the second day of Lent in 2019 and lots of things are going on this year, with all the masses held so far and Father Anthony, Cristina, and Tony sharing all that has been happening.  One thing is how successful Ash Wednesday was yesterday for this year and how important it is, not only to them, but also the importance of why people should participate in it.  This brings to mind how people seem to treat Ash Wednesday and Lent itself these days differently than before, as well as those who continue to celebrate it in the way it should be and its traditions and importance, not only for ourselves but for our faith.  Father Anthony uses this to remind us that we are all sinners, while at the same time seeking forgiveness for those sins and we are facing judgement and that there is a need for prayer and penance.  He also brings to mind how times have changed too, such as how sexualized society is around us, leading to a need for penance.
