Mid-Session 6 Jan 20: Aussie shares weaker at lunch on rising Middle East tensions

The Aussie market has continued the negative tone seen on Wall Street amid rising tensions between the US and Iran. Losses have been relatively broad based with the exception of local energy producers, with oil prices spiking more than 3% and safe havens such as gold. Financials and industrials are leading declines.
